On the way in

A knocked-out tooth is worth the drive.

A tooth put back within 30 minutes has the best chance. Within an hour is still worth coming in for.

Act quickly

Do these things now

  1. 01

Find the tooth. Pick it up by the white top, never by the root.

  2. 02

If it is dirty, rinse it in milk or saline for about ten seconds. Do not scrub it or wrap it in tissue.

  3. 03

Try to push it gently back into the socket and bite down on a clean cloth.

  4. 04

If it will not go back, carry it in a cup of milk. An adult can also tuck it inside the cheek.

  5. 05

Call us from the car so a chair is ready when you arrive.

Important to know

Baby teeth are different

Do not put a baby tooth back in. Bring your child in to be checked.

“My daughter’s front tooth came out at hockey. We put it in milk like the website said. Two years later it’s still in her mouth.”
